If message still appears...do a backup, restore and re-run your program

Q.-WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING I CAN DO TO PROTECT MY DATA?

A.--Backup--SAVE YOUR DATABASE ON FLOPPY DISK--Backup--BACKUP FREQUENTLY--Backup--KEEP AN OFF-SITE BACKUP--Backup Get the message??

If you keep a current backup of your data you can be assured that you can not loose any of your data. Your data will be as up-to-date as your latest backup in case of a system failure.

Q.-HOW CAN I MAKE MY SYSTEM RUN FASTER?

A.-Do a Backup/Restore frequently. This will expand the work area on your database to the largest possible. Keep only the necessary amount of tickets on file. We suggest doing a Purge Tickets every six months or so. Be sure you have done all the necessary reports prior to the Purge and do an external backup. Once the Purge is complete, Extend the tickets a negative amount to free up the available space. After a restore the data condenses itself-combining all the small pockets of empty spaces into one large empty space. Having the largest possible empty space will allow your system to work as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Q.-HOW CAN I BEST PROTECT MY COMPUTER SYSTEM

A.-Dust, static and power surges are your computer's worst enemies. Keep the computer area as dust-free as possible. Also, anti-static spray is available at most office supply stores. Anti-Static mats are an efficient way to protect against static. Surge protection devices are available to give protection against stray static and lightning hits--REMEMBER NOTHING IS LIGHTNING-PROOF. A UPS (UNINTERRUPTABLE POWER SUPPLY) IS AN EXCELLENT SURGE PROTECTION DEVICE AS WELL AS BEING A BATTERY BACKUP SO IF THE POWER GOES OUT YOU HAVE TIME TO SAFELY SHUT DOWN YOU SYSTEM. UNFORTUNATELY, THE SCALE ITSELF IS A HUGE LIGHTNING MAGNET. AN IN-LINE SURGE SUPPRESSOR OF ANY KIND SHOULD BE BETWEEN THE SCALE INDICATOR AND THE COMPUTER.
