Alt
Hold the Alt key and press the number 1, 2, 3 or 4, depending on the partition you wish to go to.

Arrow keys
are used to move the cursor around o
n your screen.

  • Caps Lock It is very important to have this on when signing on and using the functions in the function line. BOS does not always recognize lower case letters.
  • Ctrl A Can be used to move the cursor through text fields without hitting ENTER.

  • Ctrl O Windowing FeatureThis feature will display a file listing.
  • PgUp This key is used to roll the screen up for the next page in the file.
  • PgDn This key is used to roll the screen down for the last page in the file.
  • Esc Hit the <ESC> key to exit the Window function.
  • Find Key "F", then the ID you are looking for. This is useful if you have many pages of information to go through.
  • Ctrl Q Used to unfreeze a screen that was frozen by using Ctrl S.
  • Ctrl S May be used to freeze a screen, if needed to catch a flashing message.
  • ESC This key will bring you out of a screen or menu. This is also used to exit the Windowing feature.
  • F1 Brings you back one menu box each time you press it.
  • F10 On most machines, this is your System Request key. It can be used with the following:

    1,2, 3 or 4- to change partitions where available

    C-to open calculator

    D-- to open calendar

    L/R- to view wide reports (R- to move to the right side of the report; L- for the left side)

    P to print out a hardcopy of a screen

    T-to show the status of each partition

    Z-to clear error messages on top of screen

  • Enter This key is labeled on a keyboard as RETURN or ENTER; <CR> has the same meaning. Depressing this key will enter the information that has just been typed into the system.
  • $D Allows you to change the Date on YOUR terminal on the partition you are on only. You must be at the System Main Menu. Enter this at "Please select a function:" prompt on the System Main Menu.
  • $T This function allows you to obtain Terminal information (such as the terminal code and System Request key.) Enter this at "Please select a function:" prompt on the System Main Menu.
