Backup Errors

There are two types of backups-harddisk and external. External backups include floppy backups done from inside the menu and other types (i.e. Colorado, Everex, Zip, etc.) We support harddisk backups and backups done from inside the menu.

If you receive a Not Ready error while doing a floppy backup, check to make sure the diskette has been initialized as BACKUP. Make sure it is in the drive properly. If you still are receiving this message, try another diskette. If you are still receiving the message on another initialized diskette, try using the drive in another application (Windows, DOS, etc.) Chances are your drive is need of repair or cleaning.

If you receive a Mount CISDAT error... while doing a floppy backup, try the same procedures as mentioned above.

If you receive a Mount CISDAT error ... while doing a harddisk backup, note the unit # at the end of the message, go to the System Main Menu, type $F (CR) at $66 input device: type the unit # that appeared. At $66 output device: hit (CR) under file maintenance: type REL (answer Y at BACKUP?) type SCR (answer Y at BACKUP?) Go back and do the backup again. This time yo will be prompted for a title.

Importing Ticket Errors

Validation Errors

On the printout, there will be ^ marks where the errors have occurred. Enter the missing customer or material information into the database.

Sequence Error

Go to Ticket File Maintenance and check your last ticket number. Re-Export tickets beginning with the next ticket number. If you still are getting a Sequence Error, go back to Ticket File Maintenance, pull up your last ticket, type "N" for next. If another ticket shows up, you have a hole in your ticket file. Please call Software Support to run a fix program.

Read Error

Verify the diskette, there is something wrong with the diskette or the diskette drive. Is the disk in the drive? Can you read another disk from another application? Try to re-Export onto another diskette.

$91 Terminate Check 11

Check the tickets, is there a quantity on all the tickets where the material price is by the unit? Do any tickets contain starred out (****) fields? If so, correct in Ticket File Maintenance. Export again.

Tickets are recalculating after Import

If you want to deactivate this feature, go to Import tickets, at the prompt From Unit: key <CTRL C>. This will bring up the recalculate option. Answer the prompts, proceed with importing the tickets. This will default to the answer given until changed again.

Posting Errors

More often than not, any error that occurs while posting is going to result in restoring. So I hope you have listened to us during the hours of training and phone support that you have received from us. Hopefully, you did a backup just prior to any posting routine. With a few exceptions, the answer will be to restore. If you have done a backup just prior to posting, do the restore before anything else. Try the post again.

If you have received a $91 terminate exit 8005, run Database Housekeeping.

A Work File Full error indicates something needs to be posted. Run the approval register and check it out.

Printing Errors
Unable to print

Sort Error

A report may not have enough disk space to sort. Run Database Housekeeping and delete any empty files.

No error message

Try printing from another application, if you cannot continue with testing the printer. In the Properties of this particular printer, in the Windows95 Print Manager, you have an option of printing a test page. From a DOS prompt, you may type MSD (Microsoft Diagnostics), under Utilities, you have an option of testing a printer.

Validation Errors

Validation Errors occur when you are trying to import some data from an outside source. These errors occur because some of the file maintenance information does not match.

If you are importing tickets, you will receive a printout. A ^ mark will indicate where the discrepancy is. Generally, some customer or material information has been changed at the scale house, and the office computer has yet to be updated. Update the files then re-import.
